New Pharmacy Benefit Manager Coming in 2019
Effective Jan. 1, 2019, Sutter Health Plus is changing its
pharmacy benefit manager to Express Scripts® from MedImpact. Express Scripts will
manage the pharmacy benefits for our members, including retail, mail order and specialty
prescription drugs, claims processing, and prior authorization requests.
Express
Scripts focuses on delivering services that provide members with convenience and flexibility.
The Express Scripts member portal and mobile app will allow members to:
- Check the price of a prescription drug
- Find a nearby network pharmacy
- Manage mail order delivery and refills, for up to a 100-day supply of maintenance prescription drugs
- Receive the latest information on drugs, including possible side effects and interactions
- Talk with a pharmacist
The Express Scripts guest website is available to compare benefits, find a nearby pharmacy in the Express Scripts network, and view sample pharmacy cost sharing for some of our most popular benefit plan designs. In early January, members can create an individual account on the Express Scripts member portal to easily manage their pharmacy benefits anytime, anywhere.
