    Sutter Health Plus Supports Nonprofit Organizations in Underserved Communities

    As a local not-for-profit HMO, Sutter Health Plus supports the overall health and wellness of the community it serves. In 2016, the health plan is donating $330,000 to 10 organizations in Northern California, ranging from health centers delivering primary care to the underserved community, to an environmental science camp for elementary school students. Recipients include:

    • Angels for Hearts
    • Center for Healthcare Decisions
    • Cristo Rey High School
    • LaFamilia Counseling Center
    • Nightingale Project Medical Respite Shelter
    • Shady Creek Outdoor Education Foundation’s Fit Quest Program
    • St. Hope Academy
    • Street Level Health Project
    • The HEAL Project
    • WellSpace Health Mobile Clinic

    “We are honored to support organizations that help improve the health and well-being of our communities,” says Monica Majors, vice president of sales and marketing. “Our goal is to help provide quality medical care and educational activities promoting a healthy lifestyle.”

    Since 2013, Sutter Health Plus has invested $697,000 in community health organizations and programs. Other recipients from 2013-2015 include:

    • Stockton Health Careers Academy
    • United Way of Stanislaus County CHEF Nutrition Program
