Sutter Health Plus is pleased to announce 2017 as a year of significant growth with a focus on enhancing the member experience. Over the past year, membership increased 37 percent, with 80 percent of members renewing coverage.

Now serving nearly 80,000 members, the not-for-profit HMO remains an important part of Sutter Health’s strategic vision to transform health care in Northern California. Since its inception in 2014, the health plan expanded into three additional geographies, most recently offering coverage in Santa Cruz County. The Sutter Health Plus network includes 30 hospitals, 10 walk-in care facilities, dozens of urgent care centers, and more than 7,000 providers.

“As a provider-sponsored health plan, Sutter Health Plus brings a more efficient and effective health care financing and delivery model to the market,” said Phil Jackson, CEO of Health Plan Products, Sutter Health. “Our highest priority is delivering on our not-for-profit mission to provide affordable, high-quality care to the communities we serve. Our continued growth and retention numbers demonstrate that we are fulfilling that mission.”

2017 proved to be one of the most successful years for Sutter Health Plus. In addition to the membership milestone, highlights include:

“Moving into 2018, we look forward to continuing to be the health plan of choice for so many Northern Californians,” continued Jackson. “Our nearly 200 engaged team members remain focused on operational excellence, consistently meeting or exceeding customer and member expectations, and the health plan’s long-term success.”
